Service Description

Learn the basics of spirits in your own time, with this short four-week introductory online course, suitable for people who have little to no prior knowledge of spirits. This course is run through WSET Global & the educator for this course is based in the UK. PLEASE NOTE - there are no fixed-time online lectures for this course. The session on April 29 is simply a placeholder allowing the course to be displayed on the website. Spirit samples are not included in the course fee. Students will be provided a list of recommended spirits to purchase to assist with their tasting practice. Through a series of self-guided online modules, you will discover the main styles and types of spirits and will learn to taste using the WSET Systematic Approach to Tasting to develop an understanding of the key factors affecting flavours and aromas. Students will be required to sit a 45 minute, 30 question exam paper. This can be done online at a date and time of your choice. Please note we require three weeks advance notice to book your online exam. What you will learn: • The basic principles of spirit production • The main types and styles of spirits • Factors affecting the flavour of spirits • How to serve spirits • How to taste & describe spirits using the WSET Level 1 Systematic Approach to Tasting Spirits® (SAT) Students who successfully pass the exam, will receive the globally recognised WSET Level 1 Award in Spirit certificate and pin. Cancellation Policy

Cancellations notified in writing more than 14 days before the program begins are eligible for a full refund. Cancellations notified within 14 days of the program will not receive a refund; however, a substitute may attend in your place. If a program is cancelled by Wine Intuition, you are entitled to a full refund. If you register and pay within 14 days of the course commencement date you will not be eligible for a refund.
