Few grape varieties have travelled the world as successfully as Grenache. It has conquered France, Australia and California, becoming one of the world’s most widely planted red varieties.
Yet its true home has always been Spain - the French and separately the Sardinians will dispute this.
Known here as Garnacha, this remarkable grape tells the story of Spain itself - resilient, generous, expressive and astonishingly diverse. From the high-altitude vineyards of the Sierra de Gredos to the windswept plains of Campo de Borja, the rugged hills of Priorat and Montsant, the old vines of Navarra and the emerging landscapes of Costers del Segre, Garnacha reveals a different personality wherever it grows.
